Episodes of Coronation Street were shot down by Granada TV recently because the storyline involved a confrontation involving firearms. The temporary embargo was imposed because of the tragic real-life shootings in Northwest England in which a number of innocent people were killed. In Corrie’s storyline only one person is killed and the identity of that person is … Tony Gordon.

Issue #0036

Corrie Fan “Drake” wrote to Blighty’s Corrie Fan Newsletter to say:

“Ok my sister is a co producer of corrie and i can tell you the potential list of kills and injuries dont look if you dont want to know…
Killed: Eileen,Norris,becky,Ashley,claire,janice,trev and… david
Injured: Sophie, Molly, Peter, Nick, Tina and Michelle”

Blighty’s Corrie Fan Newsletter publishes this information without any representation as to its accuracy.

Issue #0037

As we all know, Jack will be leaving the show at the end of this year. Will he be walking down the seafront at Blackpool where he had planned to retire with his beloved former wife Vera? Or will Jack die of cancer as some have speculated? Or will Jack’s body be laying among the ruins at the corner of Coronation Street and Viaduct Street after the tram crash?

Poor Jack won’t make it off the cobbles alive. But he won’t be killed in the tram crash either. Jack will die peacefully in his sleep – a very noble and fitting end for such a fine character.

From Issue #0039: Who is “the other fella” who dies violently on the Street?

Reece Dinsdale (Joe McIntyre) drowns in Lake Windermere in a botched attempt to fake his own death to avoid the loan shark who is pursuing him.

From Issue #0040: Who are the survivors of the tram crash who attend the funeral?

Brooke Vincent and Helen Flanagan (Sophie and Rosie Webster), Sally Dynevor (Sally Webster), Samia Smith (Maria Connor), Sacha Parkinson (Sian Powers) and Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan). All were dressed in black in the cemetery after the tram crash.

Why has Corrie actor Michael Le Vell threatened to quit the show?

Three secrets for Canadian Corrie fans are revealed on this page:

  1. Molly and Tyrone get back together and get married.
  2. Molly cheats on her husband with Kevin Webster
  3. Kevin’s wife Sally develops breast cancer

Should we have sympathy for poor Sally over her husband Kevin cheating on her with Molly? Don’t forget that Sally cheated on Kevin in the past. Kevin never found out about Sally’s sordid affair; if he had found out he might feel a little less guilty about his own affair with Molly.

But then things take a different turn when Sally is diagnosed with breast cancer. Will Kevin return to the family way of life and take care of Sally, or will he carry on with his affair?

We don’t know the answer yet but actor Michael Le Vell, who plays Kevin in the show, wants to influence the way the writers develop this storyline. Michael has threatened to quit unless the writers send his character back to his wife.

UPDATE: Now things are getting very complicated. Molly is pregnant – but is the father Tyrone or Kevin?

Fizz Brown’s Very Special Day – this one’s a real shocker!

We have all been following the ups and downs of the relationship between Fizz Brown and John Stape. First she loves him, then she doesn’t. Their relationship has been on and off like a light switch.

But of course it is the weird man himself, John Stape, that is at the heart of Fizz’s emotional roller-coaster ride. The once staid school teacher has turned into a dangerous and unpredictable lunatic.

He is convicted for the abduction of Rosie Webster and sent to prison. Fizz is appalled and wants nothing more to do with him. But time heals all wounds. Eventually she admits to herself – and to John – that she still loves him.

And that love will not be held back by John’s incarceration. Fizz and John marry in the prison where he is being held. Fizz hesitates at the altar and runs outside but returns and becomes Mrs Fiona Stape.

Who is Becky Grainger?

Becky Grainger is now Becky MacDonald! Yes, she and Steve tie the knot – on the second attempt! Becky shows up to her first wedding pickled with booze!

Street newbie Nigel Havers first male escort client:

Debonair British actor Nigel Havers is a confirmed newbie on the cobbles. Havers made his fame in the movie “Chariots of Fire” in 1981. Now the suave 59 year old will join the cast as a male escort. And his first “hair raising” client on the cobbles will be Audrey!

Tony’s Deathbed Confession

This hasn’t even happened in the UK yet. Tony is going to suffer a heart attack and thinking he is going to die, he makes a deathbed confession of his role in the death of Liam to Roy and Hayley Cropper.

Not a smart move for Tony who recovers and faces an ultimatum from Roy to go to the police and confess or else Roy will do it for him. Not a smart move for Roy who  meets Tony on a dark night at the side of a canal.

Both men end up in the canal but it is Tony who walks away wet and with blood on his hands!

Tony’s Three Choices

The Tony versus Roy plot moves on. Tony, gun in hand, has three choices: Roy has been to the police; should Tony use the gun to silence Roy forever? Or should a cornered Tony take his own life? Or perhaps Tony should face up to his responsibilities and turn himself into the police? All three scenarios have been filmed; which one will be aired?

Tony’s New Mailing Address (Issue #0024)

Tony pulls Roy out of the canal but turns himself into the police. Tony is tried and goes to jail for ordering Liam’s murder and attempting to kill Roy Cropper.

The Devastating Conclusion to the Ramsey/Norris Story (Issue #0026)

Ramsey Clegg (Andrew Sachs) is Norris’s older, illegitimate half-brother. He was sent to Australia as a child but returned to find Norris when he learned he had an inoperable brain tumour. Norris rejects his advances accusing him of causing their mother’s death by re-appearing, unwanted and causing her distress. Ramsey returns to Australia without reconciling with Norris. He is found dead.

Some papers found among his possessions reveal that Ramsey had tried to write to his mother but all his letters were returned unopened. He died, rejected by both his mother and half-brother.

I shouldn’t be reading the spoilers but I just can’t help myself. Will look forward to Molly and Kevin hanging out together. I agree Kevin being the very nice man that he is would have to return to Sally when she is suffering from breast cancer. That is the type of man that he is!! Poor Tyrone, he looses again!!

  3. maryanne healy on October 17, 2009 at 2:53 pm

Why are the shows so dark?? I can’t tell who the people are most of the time Maria’s house is so dark I never know who is in there with her.Rover’s return backroom ares are very dark also.Christmas was such a drag..everything was so dark.I hope this improves because if it doesn’t we will stop watching after 45 yrs !!

  4. Stephenie Sharpe on October 18, 2009 at 7:35 am

I really feel for poor Tyrone! He is such a kind person and tries so hard to be sweet and romantic. I hope he finds the right girl soon. It’s really too bad about Molly…I actually really liked her and thought they made a great couple!! Will be interesting to see though how she deals with being pregnant and not knowing whether the baby is Tyrone’s or Kevin’s!!

    Keep the spoilers coming!!!!!!

  5. Marian Ritchie on October 22, 2009 at 2:42 pm

I love spoilers. So glad you finally added them.

We spend the winter down in Florida so it gives us a chance to know what’s coming and what we’re missing. This makes it easier to catch up in the spring.

Anyway, we were in Scotland this past summer so we saw some of the spoilers ourselves.

  6. Kay on October 31, 2009 at 10:34 am

I read the Daily Mail online every day and this week they have had articles about both Corrie and Eastenders. I cannot help but read them!! Then I ask my husband if he wants to know and he inevitably does!
I guess it’s the peek into the future we like and then we wait for it to happen!!

  7. Cheryl Bertrand on November 1, 2009 at 8:01 am

Your spoilers are great when I go away for the winter in Arizona it is my only way to keep up with the goings on. it take so little time to read and they are much better then the lengthy epsiode updates you get on other web sites. Keep up the excellent job…. BRAVO!!!

  8. Lorraine Houde on November 3, 2009 at 6:01 pm

We always go to Florida for the Winter. Is there a T.V. service that carries Coronation Street in Florida? We sure would love to get it there.
    Thank You,
    Lorraine

    To MaryAnne Healy,
I think it is your TV – probably, the brightness needs fixing. We’ve had no trouble with the shows being too “dark” to see.
I hope Dev’s uncle has gone back to India. I found him difficult to watch and annoying to listen to, especially when he was eating grapes, which seemed like a lot of the time.

  13. Janet Gonsalves on March 9, 2010 at 1:24 am

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work in getting this out to all of us “Street” fans.

I just discovered that Ramsey Cole (Norris’ brother) is played by Andrew Sachs who a lot of us remember as Manuel, the clutzy waiter in Fawlty Towers. Your readers might be interested in this.

    Finally, pleeeeese, some new spoilers.

    Thanks again
    Janet

  14. SUSAN THOMSON on March 22, 2010 at 2:18 pm

the answer is Jack and Vera Duckworth

  15. Janet Gonsalves on April 5, 2010 at 10:34 am

I am sure many of us have been wondering why Liz MacDonald has suddenly vanished from the Street. I just read a short item in Hello Canada which stated that the actress has suffered from a nervous breakdown which took her from the show for 5 months. Can happen to anyone! Let’s wish her well.

  16. Frances Fram on April 6, 2010 at 10:13 am

Helen Flanagan is definately NOT one of your runner ups.. She looks too over-done and is bursting out of her clothes.

  17. Barbara Webster on June 14, 2010 at 10:18 am

Why can’t a friend who lives in Florida receive your Newsletter? I forward it to her but she cannot get it directly – do you know the reason? I love the Newsletter and the Spoilers – keep them coming!

  18. Janet Gonsalves on August 18, 2010 at 10:15 pm

Too easy John . The answer to your latest trivia question is, of course, nasty David Platt.

  19. Marj Ratelle on September 1, 2010 at 7:55 am

May sound mean…however, I will not be missing any of these characters (except for Ty, he is so sweet) who will be lost on the street….finally David will be gone for good!

  20. Jan Matwey on September 21, 2010 at 8:24 am

Just read the list of deaths and I’m sorry to see that Rosie Webster is NOT on it. She is so hateful and I would like to see her character finally get her come-uppance. Too bad Becky is leaving because I think the interaction between her and Tracey would have been great.

  21. Sue Mitchell on October 6, 2010 at 9:25 pm

  22. Bev. Taylor on October 7, 2010 at 9:22 am

  24. ljr on October 23, 2010 at 8:10 am

I will read the spoilers. If we were on the same viewing schedule as the UK I wouldn’t bother, but since we are so far behind, we will likely hear anyway.

This way we can just look forward to what is coming up.

  25. Yasmin Van Tassel on October 25, 2010 at 7:28 am

The answer to today’s newsletter is that Jack and Vera Duckworth decided to paint the bricks on their house blue and beige and their front door blue. They also have a sign beside their door that says “the old rectory”.

  26. Daphne Tarrant on November 8, 2010 at 9:50 pm

The man who went missing was Liam Connor. You are talking about his black lab Ozzie, given to him by wife Maria.
