FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
What is Coronation Street?
Coronation Street is a British “soap opera” TV show. It is produced by Britain’s ITV network at its Granada studios in Manchester in the north-west of England. Coronation Street (also affectionately known as “Corrie”) was first aired on 9th December 1960; it celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2010. Coronation Street is now seen all around the world.
The show is about life on a typical working class street in a fictional Manchester suburb called “Weatherfield”. Life on the street revolves around a pub called the “Rovers Return” where all the characters meet on a daily basis. Other prominent businesses featured in the show include “Underworld” (an undergarment factory), Websters Garage, the Kabin (newsagent), Audrey’s Hairdressers and Dev’s Corner Store.

SAVE CORO CAMPAIGN IN NEW ZEALAND
V One is changing the screening time of Coro in New Zealand.
It’s crazy what they are doing; the show is still hugely popular. The new timeslot is a children’s time so it’s likely some key scenes will be censored. This just isn’t on !
I’ve signed up to the on-line petition and now I’ve posted this Save Coro song on You Tube. Hopefully, Mr Latch will get to hear it and also, see that it has had a lot of views
.Any publicity about saving Coro would be much appreciated. As mentioned there is an online New Zealand petition people can respond to
Here’s the You Tube address for the song- please send it along to others. Thanks
